FCF Incorporates in Ontario

The First FCF Organization Incorporates

A federal milestone for Canadian cannabis farming

Federation of Cannabis Farmers (FCF) has officially incorporated as a federal, not-for-profit corporation through Corporations Canada, with extra-provincial registration established in Ontario. Incorporation marks a milestone for the first official FCF federation to establish in Canada and sets a national foundation built on trust, transparency, and accountability.

On September 8, 2025, FCF held its First Meeting of Members. Members voted to adopt the corporation by-laws and policies, created with support from an experienced governance consultant. Members also nominated and elected the first Board of Directors. Following the member meeting, the Board appointed the organization’s Chairperson.

Corporate Record Details:
  • Corporate name: Federation of Cannabis Farmers (FCF)
  • Corporation number: 1732693-9
  • Business number (BN): 768976631RC0001

The Executive Advisory Board is compromised of ethically aligned industry professionals that are volunteering their time towards leading the not-for-profit organization. FCF's Executive Advisory Board will serve as Directors in the inaugural year of the organization and assist with the board transition and on-boarding of the Producer-Led Board of Directors.

Incorporation builds the structure needed to serve Health Canada licenced producers across the country as the initial federation. It also creates a repeatable model that supports farm members who want to establish federations in their own regions, using FCF resources, templates, and governance guidance. The incorporation date also aligns with a personal calendar milestone for the founder, a reminder that leadership in cannabis farming takes long-term commitment.

This milestone supports national objectives focused on unifying farm members, strengthening cannabis farming as an agricultural commodity, and advancing access to agriculture programs under Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC).

Conclusion

I see this incorporation milestone as proof that Canadian cannabis farming is organizing with clear rules and credible governance. FCF's First Meeting of Members set the tone with member-approved by-laws, policies, elected directors, and a board-appointed Chairperson. This structure creates stability for service delivery, research collaboration, and national representation.

The next phase focuses on growing a like-minded community of Health Canada licenced cannabis farm members across Canada, and helping new regional federations form with a proven blueprint and governance guidance. Let's get straight to it.
